What are Pthalates? Pthalates are dangerous chemicals which damage our lungs, liver, kidney and also our reproductive system. Some products contain high levels of pthalates and others contain low levels however it is best to try and avoid products which contain pthalates altogether. Most cosmetic products in the UK contain pthalates however there are some products out there which don't and as a consumer it's impossible to distinguish one from the other because no information is provided on the labelling. Pthalates have been found in many top brand air fresheners including Walgreens, Airwick, Glade, Febreze, Lysol, Oust fan and Renuzit. None of these companies mention the dangerous use of pthalates in their labelling as by law they are not required to do so. In other words these top companies are continuing to take our hard earned cash in exchange for products which they claim freshen the air around us where as in actual fact, they are polluting the environment and at the same time polluting our bodies. - They are a group of chemicals used as solvents and fixatives - They can be absorbed through the skin, inhaled as fumes, ingested when they contaminate food or when children bite or suck on plastic toys. - The European Union has classified Pthalates as substances 'Toxic to Reproduction' Fruityair products do not contain any harmful chemicals, we are 100% natural, 100% organic and 100% Pthalates free. |
